How to Apply

Whatcom Day Academy’s admissions process is designed to ensure that prospective students and families have a thorough understanding of our philosophy and approach to learning, and to assess whether this setting is a good match for your child.

STEP 1) Tour the school.
Parents are welcome to bring children along on the tour if so desired. We’re proud of the laughter you’ll hear in our hallways, and of the eager participation in learning activities you’ll see in our classrooms.

STEP 2) Complete application forms.
Application forms include the application for admission, the student information form, the teacher recommendation form and the student records request form. The teacher recommendation form and student records request form are not required for students with no previous school experience.

Please include a non-refundable application fee of $50.00.

- Student Information Form (PDF)
Provide basic information about your child. This will help the teacher prepare for your child’s visit.

- Early Years Teacher Recommendation Form (PDF)
For children ages 3 & 4. Please complete the top two sections and return it to WDA. We will forward it to the teacher/childcare provider.

- Teacher Recommendation Form (PDF)
For children ages 5 & above. Please complete the top two sections and return it to WDA. We will forward it to the appropriate school.

STEP 3) Mail to:

Note: If you would like to apply for Financial Aid, please see our Financial Aid section for instructions.

STEP 4) After we receive the completed application materials, we will contact you to schedule a class visit and observation for your child.

Accepted applicants will be notified by letter and will be eligible for the next available opening in the appropriate age group.
