Field Trips
Field trips are an integral part of education at Whatcom Day Academy. We believe that students learn best by “doing” and field trips are one of the ways we provide hands-on experiences. Excursions may be to cultural events such as theater performances and museum exhibits, or may be opportunities to learn about different occupations at farms, water treatment plants and airports. Older students go on multi-day trips that incorporate environmental education and leadership training
We want WDA students to be compassionate contributors to their families, classmates, and community, so we also organize community service projects as a part of our off-campus curriculum. Students learn first hand what an important impact they can make on their communities through these activities. Our students have participated in wetlands research and rehabilitation, trail restoration, senior center visits, and other important community ventures.
