Whatcom Day Academy's History

Whatcom Day Academy was established in 1988 by a creative teacher named Jan Resick. She wanted to create a place where all students had access to a challenging education, and where individual learning styles were honored. Thirty-five students attended classes during WDA’s first year.

From that first year of operation to the present, WDA has focused on providing a community where students can thrive academically, socially and emotionally. WDA now serves over 100 students and we are still growing.
