Our Board
Whatcom Day Academy is a non-profit organization governed by an elected Board of Trustees. All families whose children attend the school are members of the corporation. Each family is entitled to one vote at the Annual General Meeting held each spring when WDA's new Trustees are elected by the membership. The Board consists of ten to fourteen Trustees drawn from parents, faculty, and community members. These Trustees are responsible for setting and promoting the mission of the school, strategic planning, hiring and evaluating the Head of School, and ensuring the necessary resources to operate the school. There are also standing and ad hoc Board committees that include Trustees, faculty, and other parents, which enact the annual goals set by the Board and advise the Board on a variety of issues. Whatcom Day Academy is fortunate to have involved and enthusiatic members volunteer to take on these responsibilities. The school greatly benefits from their generous commitment.
